Lucy Cummins- Physiotherapist and Pilates InstructorDiploma of Professional Pilates Instruction (PITC), Certicate IV in Pilates Instruction (PITC), Authentic Pilates Certified Instructor (New York Pilates Studio PTY LTD), Post Graduate Certified by The Pilates Professionals International (UK)Background: Lucy has been teaching Pilates since 2002, including one year abroad in the UK. She has trained with a broad spectrum of different Pilates Organizations, ranging from Rehabilitative Pilates Programs all the way through to the more dynamic and challenging Authentic Pilates Method. Utilizing her extensive training and knowledge, Lucy trains everyone from elite athletes to people in rehabilitation, ante/post natal, young and seniors.

Interests: Lucy loves the adventure and experience of travel, making many tracks around europe, south america, central america and asia. Once a competitive athlete, she still continues to enjoy running for its mental and physical benefits- aswell as skiing, tennis and meditation.

Sarah Smith – Osteopath and Pilates InstructorBSc(ClinSc) MHSc(Osteo) MAOABackground:Sarah’s experience as an Osteopath has given her a great understanding of various injuries and their rehabilitation. She has extensive knowledge in the treatment of postural aches and pains such as lower back pain, neck pain and headaches, She has a special interest in the treatment of pre and post-partum women, having completed her masters in Osteopathic Treatment for Pregnant Patients. Sarah has completed the Polestar Pilates Rehabilitation training, and has also completed postgraduate studies in the area of Exercise Rehabilitation, Obstetrics and Paediatrics, Advanced Muscle Energy technique, Cranio-sacral therapy, Biodynamics, and Dry needling.

Vicki Hatfield – Practice Manager- Pilates Instructor

Background: As a myotherapist, gymnast, and keen sportswoman, Vicki has worked for several years developing her hands-on musculo-skeletal treatment skills with Elite Myotherapy.  Vicki now brings these skills to her Pilates teaching with specific interest in helping her clients overcome postural related injuries through a combination of Pilates and Myotherapy.  Vicki works from the Richmond studio treating clients on Friday mornings.
Interests: Hiking, snow skiing, and wakeboarding.

Background: Tanya has been an educator and fitness instructor for 14 years. She has taught Pilates since 2004, and has been a lecturer in Anatomy and Functional Anatomy since 2000. Utilizing her extensive training and practical experience in the education, fitness, rehabilitation, and Pilates fields, Tanya adapts her knowledge to train individuals of all ages and levels of health & fitness.
Interests: Tanya loves travel experiences that completely immerse her in communities different to our own. She has enjoyed working in communities in Africa and her love of adventure travel has lead her to visit giraffe and elephant orphanages in Kenya, orangutangs in Borneo, and sled dogs in the Arctic circle. Tanya enjoys attempting to surf, teaching group exercise classes, bongo drums, dancing, and learning!!

Jade O’Hare – Pilates Instructor

APMA Certified Pilates Teacher

Background: 15 years in dance, specializing in ballet, including training at the English National Ballet and the Victorian College of the Arts. 5 years Pilates teaching experience; 12 years Pilates participant. Jade has special expertise in training dancers and integrating ballet specific movements and repertoire into her teaching.
Interests: Jogging, travel, movies, and reading.

Tom Scown – Pilates Instructor

B. Exercise Science, Victoria University
Cert IV in Fitness
Certified Pilates Instructor through Stott Pilates and the Melbourne School of Sport and Recreation
Completed 1 year Cadet (biomechanics) program with Western Bulldogs football club

Background: Tom has over 10 years experience in the fitness field. In addition to his Pilates qualifications, Tom has a degree in Exercise Science and is a welcome team member in Prahran from the previous teaching team there.
Interests: Tom is a competitive hockey player and a recreational surfer.

Zac Jones – Pilates Instructor

APMA Certified Pilates Teacher

Background: Zac has been a valued member of the Balance & Control team since April 2007.  Zac graduated from the Australian Ballet School in 1996 and has been actively involved in the dance community ever since.   He danced professionally with Queensland Ballet for 2 years and then Complexions Contemporary Dance Company in Queensland for 2 years.

In 2009 and 2010 Zac returned to the Australian Ballet School in a teaching role in strength and conditioning.  Zac trained in Pilates under the Australian Pilates Method Association (APMA) in 2006, and also holds a black belt in Aikido.

Zac has a strong interest in movement imagery to help his clients facilitate a deeper understanding of the body in movement and brings a wealth of knowledge to his classes for his clients.
